What Makeup Products Should I Splurge On?
Are you finding it hard to buy makeup without having to break the bank? Here are some tips on how to select which makeup products worth splurging on etc.
It’s very understandable that everyone will have a different budget when it comes to their beauty products. Although people with greater financial means may have the urge to spend more on products, everyone should keep in mind that the higher price tag doesn't always mean you are getting a higher quality product. In fact, sometimes consumers are simply paying for a well-marketed product in fancy packaging. Nevertheless, there are some products, like primers, that I will splurge on if they create a beautiful, flawless canvas.
Check out my last blog, titled “How Can I Be Sure I Am Purchasing The Right Primer For Me?“ to gain a better understanding of what primers are. Foundations, concealers, and powders are other products I like to invest in because they are crucial for makeup application.
I am not suggesting you completely disregard drugstore options. However, I find that it is extremely difficult to find quality drugstore products foundations, concealers and powders that have longevity and come in a wide range of shades. It is for that reason that I recommend spending a little more on complexion products.
Eye-products are a different story because drugstore companies have done a relatively good job. There are many affordable companies that create good quality eyeshadows, eyeliners and mascaras and some do it even better than high-end companies! Furthermore, products such as bronzers, blush, contours, highlights, and lipstick can be purchased at the drugstore. The only time I purchase these products at a high end price tag is if the colour or product is so unique and it's a must in my collection.
